Application Steps
- Check Eligibility: Ensure you meet age, residency, and criminal history requirements under Texas Government Code Chapter 411.
- Submit Online Application: Go to the Texas.gov LTC Portal to start your application, pay the fee, and save your receipt/checklist.
- Complete Training: Take the classroom instruction (available online via approved providers or in person) and pass the live-fire shooting proficiency demonstration with a certified instructor to receive your Form LTC-104.
- Schedule Fingerprints: Set up a fingerprinting appointment through the state’s contracted vendor as instructed on your checklist.
- Upload Documents: Log back into the Texas.gov LTC Portal to upload your Certificate of Training (LTC-104) and any other required supporting documents.
